PhotiosPhotius (b. Constantinople ca. 820 - Bordi (Armenia), February 6, 891) was the Christian patriarch of Constantinople during 858-861 and 878-886, later recognized as a Saint by the Eastern Orthodox Church. ("Photius" is a westernized spelling, especially in its use of the letter "u", resulting from adaptation of the name to the Latin language. In Greek, the name is Φoτιoς.)
