All about Rachel Mahsman

• Hometown: New London, MO (right by Hannibal, MO)

• Major/Minor: Global Studies/Anthropology

• Career Goals: I really have no clue. I want to study languages, so maybe I'll get a masters degree or join the Peace Corps. I'd be happy working for an international business as well. I just dont know right now.

• Hobbies: I play piano and have started bass guitar. I really enjoy writing. I like to garden and plant herbs, study medicinal properties of herbs, and make herbal concoctions like salves and ointments. I also like to knit and crochet (I know I sound like an old woman... I also love cats, so that just adds to it! One day I will be a crazy cat-lady). I also enjoy drawing and painting.

• Pet Peeves: When people walk and skid their shoes!!! That is so annoying! Next time you're walking to class, pay attention to it and notice how many people do it.

• Favorite music: I really like older-style jazz (like Glen Miller Orchestra), My favorite band is Alice in Chains, I also listen to A Perfect Circle, (old) Mudvayne, and I really like progressive metal (Between the Buried and Me, Protest the Hero, The Faceless, Veil of Maya, All Shall Perish). I go through phases though.

• Least favorite music: I dont like rap or hip-hop. I try to find music that is incredibly talented (especially bass and drums) like most progressive metal. I'm not a fan of pop or singers that don't actually play their own instruments or write their own music.

• Zodiac sign: Aquarius.
