Tips for Getting Started on the EefyWikiFirst of all, this isn't brain surgery. Literally hundreds of students have used the EefyWiki since I set it up back in the fall of 2004... including some students who claimed to be computer illiterate. Now for some tips. Some of them even learned to enjoy it!
- CamelCase! CamelCase! CamelCase!
- There is excellent help to be found at the EditMe Help Site.
- Feel free to goof around with the EefyWiki's functionalities. Facebook it ain't, but some people enjoy tricking out their EefyWiki homepages.
- Feel free to network if you like. Link to your Facebook (or MySpace or blog or whatever), or link your Facebook back to your EefyWiki page.
- Do NOT NOT NOT upload huge graphical files to the EefyWiki. It eats up bandwidth and disk space and costs money out of my pocket (cue world's smallest violin). Think of my poor starving pooches...
- Keep filenames simple. Coleman Zemo recommends that you name your assignment files like this:
- Assignment One: zemo01
- Assignment Two: zemo02
- You can compose works on the EefyWiki if you like. Most find it preferable, because the EefyWiki automatically saves old drafts.
- If you want to cut and paste documents into the EefyWiki, please use the boxes at the left side of the middle toolbar.
